    1. Thank You Melinda. Happy To Hear You.

If there is no detergent coming out, or won’t dispense anything then you have to check the following-
Ensure that the container of detergent is full.
Thoroughly check all the connections, if the detergent is too thickly diluted. Then you have to ensure that the adjustable nozzle is set in the low pressure. As if it is in high pressure mode, it will not allow detergent to pass.
And if you have done all these things, in the detergent function and if it is still not working, then the detergent suction tube or pump could be clogged. Or what can also happen is that the detergent tube has come loose from the pump.
To determine if the detergent is working or not, turn on the unit, and then put your fingers at the very end of the detergent suction tube. And if there is no suction at all it means that the tube has become loose. Then it is wise for you to call the customer service or the professionals who can help solve this.
But if you can feel the suction then it is working. And means it is just clogged. You have to remove the clogs from it.
      Process of removing the clogs-
For removing the clogs, first you have to remove the wands from the gun.
Fill the detergent solution reservoir with some warm water
Then restart the pressure washer under the low pressure setting
Siphon until the water is gone, as this will remove the remaining chemical from the reservoir inside.
Repeat the process, then reconnect the adjustable nozzle to the end of the gun and set the nozzle at the low pressure position. Then you can begin the normal operations as usual.

  1. Brand New _ The pump will not suck at all. No kinks. used diluted soap from sunjoe. I PUT FINGER INFRONT of hose to feel for suction…..nothing. Just put it together today. Help.

    1. I apologize for the inconvenience you’re facing with your brand new Sun Joe Pressure Washer. If the pump is not creating any suction and you have already checked for kinks in the hose, there could be a few reasons for this issue:

Airlock: Sometimes, air can get trapped in the pump, preventing it from priming properly. To fix this, try the following steps:
      a. Turn off the pressure washer.
      b. Disconnect the hose and trigger gun from the pump.
      c. Turn on the pressure washer for a few seconds to release any trapped air.
      d. Turn off the pressure washer again.
      e. Reconnect the hose and trigger gun, making sure they are tightly secured.
      f. Turn on the pressure washer and try to use it again.

Water supply: Ensure that the water supply is sufficient and the hose is connected securely to both the pressure washer and the water source. Insufficient water flow can cause the pump to lose suction.

Detergent application: If you are using a detergent with the pressure washer, make sure you are using the correct detergent nozzle and that the detergent suction tube is properly connected to the pump.

Inlet filter: Check if the inlet filter (located where the hose connects to the pressure washer) is clean and not clogged. Clean it if necessary.

Pressure washer assembly: Double-check that all parts of the pressure washer are assembled correctly, as per the manufacturer’s instructions.

If you have tried the above steps and the problem persists, it might be a defect in the pump itself. Since your pressure washer is brand new, I recommend reaching out to Sun Joe’s customer support for assistance. They should be able to help troubleshoot the issue further or provide you with a replacement if needed.

Always remember to follow the safety guidelines and instructions provided in the user manual while operating the pressure washer. I hope this helps, and your pressure washer gets up and running smoothly!

  2. Same issue here. It would dispense soap the first few times, but won’t anymore. It won’t even suck up water. No suction from the nozzle, even to it apart. No clogs. Any suggestions or replacements?

    1. If your Sun Joe Pressure Washer is no longer dispensing soap and not sucking up water, even after ensuring there are no clogs and proper assembly, here are some additional suggestions:

Check detergent concentration: Make sure the detergent you are using is properly diluted according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Using overly concentrated soap can cause issues with the soap dispenser.

Soap nozzle or setting: Verify that you are using the correct soap nozzle or setting for dispensing detergent. Some pressure washers have specific nozzles or settings for soap application.

Check the soap suction tube: Disconnect the soap suction tube from the detergent container and check if it is clear of any obstructions or blockages. Clean it thoroughly if needed.

Prime the pump: Try priming the pump again to ensure it is free from airlocks. Turn off the pressure washer, disconnect the hose, and trigger gun. Turn on the pressure washer for a few seconds, then turn it off again. Reconnect the hose and trigger gun, making sure they are tightly secured, and try using the pressure washer again.

Water supply pressure: Ensure that your water source is providing adequate water pressure to the pressure washer. Insufficient water pressure can lead to the pump not drawing in water properly.

Check for leaks: Inspect all hose connections and fittings for any leaks that might be causing a loss of suction. Even a small leak can affect the pressure washer’s performance.

If you have tried all these steps and the issue still persists, it’s possible that there could be a problem with the pump itself. In such cases, it may be best to contact Sun Joe’s customer support for further assistance or inquire about possible replacements, especially if the unit is still under warranty.

As always, follow the safety guidelines and instructions provided in the user manual while troubleshooting or using the pressure washer. I hope these suggestions help you get your pressure washer back to working condition.

  3. the sun joe detergent injector is easily clogged when you put it way with some detergent still in the little hoses. it will flow downhill to the injector as it dries out in the injector, building up residue inside the injector. it’s difficult to work on this until you completely remove the pump motor combo from the unit. The injector was plugged up with crud on mine. I cleaned it out and now it barely sucks any detergent, so I bought a gas pressure washer.

    1. Thank you for sharing your experience with the Sun Joe detergent injector. It appears that the detergent injector can be prone to clogging, especially if there is leftover detergent in the hoses when the unit is stored. The residue buildup inside the injector can obstruct the flow of detergent, leading to reduced suction and performance issues.

It’s unfortunate that cleaning the injector didn’t fully resolve the problem, and I understand why you decided to purchase a gas pressure washer instead. Gas pressure washers can offer more power and may have a different detergent application system that might be more reliable for your needs.

If you encounter any issues or have questions about your new gas pressure washer or anything else, feel free to ask. I’m here to help with any information or assistance you may need.
